Long before North America joined in on the explosion of electronic post-hardcore, England’s very own Enter Shikari was lighting the match. This dominating quartet has been leading the progression of electronica since 2003, igniting a trend that would ultimately fuel the eruption of electro subgenres and define our favorite bands today. Impelling an aggressive pace for nearly a decade, Enter Shikari continues to abuse boundaries while incorporating their newly innovative fusion of socio-political lyrics, dubstep, and British hip hop.

Even before the release of their first studio album, Enter Shikari had the industry’s full attention. In 2006, “Mothership” and “Sorry You’re Not A Winner” landed them a spot on the U.K. Singles Charts top 200. Since then, every Enter Shikari album has ranked in the U.K. Album Charts top 20, including their most recent release ‘A Flash Flood of Colour’, peaking at #4. Constantly staring at sold out venues, magazine covers, and awards such as ‘Best Live Band’ (Kerrang! Awards) and ‘Breakthrough Artist Of The Year’ (BT Digital Awards), this critically acclaimed post-hardcore band is one you can’t afford to miss.

Although originating in 2003, the band didn’t tour North America until May of 2007. By then, Enter Shikari had found much success in the U.K. and was practically a household name. ‘A Flash Flood Of Colour North American Tour’ marks their third appearance in Utah; first being A Day To Remember‘s ‘TourSick’ (May 2010) and second, Vans Warped Tour (August 2011). Recently, they were scheduled to appear on The Devil Wears Prada‘s ‘Dead Throne Tour North America’ (November 2011), but regrettably weren’t able to make the Utah date. With that being said, this will be their first headlining tour passing through the state of Utah. With a 34-band roster, currently housing some of the best bands in alternative music, it’s always a mystery as to who will turn up on the next U.S. Rise Records tour. The wait is over and the lineup has been announced, leaving us with the altering anticipation of their awaited arrival. Local artists I Capture Castle and Stories Of Ambition are scheduled to kick off the night.

Hardcore bands The Air I Breathe and My Ticket Home are no strangers to our music library, but this tour introduces some of the newer faces in the Rise Records family. Fresh from the studio, the New Jersey six-piece known as Palisades is quickly making a permanent impression in the post-hardcore scene. Their most recent EP ‘I’m Not Dying Today’ displays a consistently aggressive blend of pop-punk, hardcore, and synth that you’ll just have to hear once to spark an addiction. Trailing close behind is the latest talent to emerge from Australia. Already teaming up with some big names, Hands Like Houses has released tracks with featured guest vocalists Tyler Carter (of Woe, Is Me) and Jonny Craig (of Dance Gavin Dance, Emarosa, and Isles And Glaciers). I think it’s safe to say that these bands are on track to becoming the next big thing.

Following I Capture Castle‘s upcoming show with I Set My Friends On Fire (The DMT, Sleep Paralsis, And All That Hyphy Shit Tour), guitarist Nick Karmazsin will be parting ways with the band as he pursues his latest hip hop project Krimz. Although we’re sad to see him go, we look forward to hearing his new beats and hope that you will continue to support Nick in his future endeavors. As a result, I Capture Castle has began open tryouts in search for a permanent replacement. Applicants must meet the following criteria:

Possibly the most brutal band to come out of Tennessee, Whitechapel is pure death metal at its finest. This guitar-driven 6-piece has been leading the progression of modern-day metal, while proudly corrupting our youth since 2006. As they breeze through seemingly non-stop tour dates, we can’t help but wonder how they’ve managed to squeeze in time to record their new full-length. Scheduled to release in June, the band is putting the final touches on their fourth studio album; a follow-up to 2010′s ‘A New Era of Corruption’, which debuted on the Billboard Top 200 Charts at #43.

Although Utah gets passed up every year for Mayhem Festival, we’re still set to get a little dose of mayhem. Both Whitechapel and Upon A Burning Body have decided to make a pit stop in Salt Lake City in between dates of the tour. Local hardcore bands I Capture Castle and Cherish The King have been asked to open up the night.

In Fear And Faith is preparing for their next headlining tour ‘The SoundRink Tour’ featuring co-headliners For All Those Sleeping, Casino Madrid and Adestria. Scheduled to kick off in Ogden, UT (April 13th), local support I Capture Castle is sure to set the pace for this unforgettable event. Unfortunately, the Australian post-hardcore band Dream On, Dreamer won’t be joining up with the tour until they reach Seattle, WA (April 17th).

Amidst the array of more familiar names, ‘The SoundRink Tour’ introduces an alluring, new face to the front-line of post-hardcore. Although the band didn’t sign with Artery until December of 2011, Adestria has been turning heads ever since they were deemed the ‘#5 Unsigned Band’ by Alternative Press. With the anticipation growing for their new album featuring guest appearances from Scott Barnes (of In Fear And Faith), Tyler Smith (of The Word Alive, Greeley Estates, and In Fear And Faith), and Davey Muise (of Vanna), we’re sure to see much more from Adestria in the future. The time has come, yet again for the Summer’s largest music festival, the 2012 Vans Warped Tour. As the final bands are confirmed, Ernie Ball has opened the polls for their 16th annual Battle Of The Bands, giving unsigned artists a chance to perform on the Ernie Ball Stage for each date of the tour. The competition’s winning bands will play live in their hometown venue alongside Ernie Ball headlining artists Iwrestledabearonce, Born of Osiris, Transit, Chunk No, Captain Chunk, and more. As always, one band will be eligible to win the grand prize including a $15,000 Guitar Center shopping spree, a 2 week slot on the 2013 Warped Tour, recording time with multi-platinum producer/head of A/R for Warner Brothers John Feldmann, and a full Ernie Ball Music Man endorsement.

Warming our hearts since mid 2007, I Set My Friends On Fire has come a long way since the release of their first single, a rendition of Soulja Boy‘s ‘Crank That’. Tearing up the event’s main stage is non other than electronic rock project Celldweller (Detroit, MI), best known for his frequent appearances in movies, television, and video games. West Coast electronic hardcore bands I Capture Castle (Salt Lake City, UT), Here Comes The Chaos (Indio, CA), Infinitee, and Crime will kick off the night and set the pace for this unforgettable evening.

Following the release of their sixth studio album entitled ‘Some Kind Of Hate’, Aiden is back on the road with post-hardcore band Modern Day Escape. Despite the ironic similarities of a modern day Escape The Fate, their trendy persona and catchy choruses are anything but a masquerade. As we await the release of their upcoming album ‘Under The Gun’ (available March 27th), don’t miss your chance to taste a sample of their new sound.

Although the tour was originally scheduled with Hollywood’s horror punk band Wednesday 13, they will not be playing in Salt Lake City. This leaves room for local talent I Capture Castle and Dead Wife By Knife to kick off the night with a healthy dose of hardcore.
