“Goodbye” Re-released

Loosing someone that you love, is without a doubt, the most difficult thing in this world. Back in 2004, my Grandpa passed away. A few days before he died, my mom was awaiting her flight back home to Sweden, to see him one last time. She couldn’t help but mention how helpless she felt, being so far away. What she would give to be with him in that very moment. Scared that she’d be too late, and not get to say ‘Goodbye’. Before she left, I wrote her this song. She was there with him on the day he died. The song was played at his funeral.

Just last week, my mom’s younger brother was life lined to the hospital for an awaited lung transplant. After five years of struggling to breathe, and waiting for a donor, he only had 12 hours of surgery ahead of him. Before the surgery began, he passed away. This time, my mom wasn’t able to make it home to Sweden, and be there when he died.

Nothing can replace the ones you love. It’s your faith that keeps you believing, that one day, you will see them again. And ‘Goodbye’ never mattered. This song is for anyone who has felt the loss of someone they’ve truly loved. But truly… they were never lost. And when it is our time to pass that vail, they will be there waiting. This moment that we call ‘life’ is merely transient, but love… love is eternal.

We will always love you, and you will never be forgotten.
